Qinglian Expressway is an important part of Xu (Xuchang)-Guangzhou (Guangzhou) Expressway G4W2. It is a large-scale north-south passage parallel to the Beijing-Hong Kong-Macao Expressway in Guangdong Province. It is also the country's first large-scale mountainous first-class highway upgrade project. It starts at Jingkou of Qingyuan City in the south and connects with Guangqing Expressway. It passes through Qingcheng District, Qingxin District, Yangshan County, Liannan Yao Autonomous County and Lianzhou City in Qingyuan City, and ends at Fengtouling at the junction of Guangdong and Hunan in the north. Yilian Expressway is docked with a total length of 216 kilometers. It is a two-way four-lane cement concrete pavement structure with a design speed of 80 and 100 kilometers per hour (in 2012, the speed of some road sections was increased to 110 kilometers). The total actual project investment is 6.132 billion yuan, with an average of 25.25 million yuan per kilometer. The whole line has 4 pairs of large service areas, 5 central toll stations, 14 ramp stations (112 toll lanes in total), 4 road administration squadrons, and 3 maintenance work areas with complete service functions.
