Wuhuang Expressway is the first expressway in Hubei Province and the fourth expressway in the country. It is the aorta of East Hubei traffic. It is an important common line section of the G50 Shanghai-Chongqing Expressway and the G70 Fuyin Expressway. It is known as the "Chutian First Road". It was opened to traffic in February 1991. The Wuhuang Expressway starts in the hinterland of the "Optics Valley of China" in Wuhan, and ends in Huangshi City through Ezhou City. There is a mainline station, six ramp stations and a service area (the service area does not belong to the Shenzhen Expressway). The Wuhuang Expressway connects the three major industrial cities of Wuhan, Ezhou, and Huangshi, and is an important link for the coordinated development of urban agglomerations in the middle reaches of the Yangtze River.
